DriveClub Revealed as UK’s Best-Selling Exclusive of 2014
From a destructive launch last year that could have spelt doom for DriveClub, Sony’s racer has managed to end up as the best selling single-platform exclusive in the UK for 2014.
In its process of turning things around, DriveClub managed to fend off other console exclusives like The Last of Us: Remastered, Infamous: Second Son, Sunset Overdrive and Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
It’s important to note that all of these titles had an incredible opening month, while DriveClub practically launched with its online services in disarray. The Black Friday Deals helped the game a lot in this regard.
Last month Sony revealed that sales of DriveClub had jumped 999 percent during the heavily discounted Black Friday offerings. A console bundle featuring a copy of the game was dropped down to just £289.
DriveClub did not lose its momentum once the week concluded and continued to sell reasonably well. With the recent patches and online stability, DriveClub has managed to place No. 12 in this week’s sales charts of UK.
The second best-selling single-platform exclusive went to The Last of Us: Remastered, followed by Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Below are the top three selling titles (exclusives) of both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for last year.
- The Last of Us: Remastered
- Infamous: Second Son
- Halo: The Master Chief Collection
- Forza Motorsport 5
- Sunset Overdrive
