Pre-Orders for Grim Fandango: Remastered are Now Open
Earlier today, online retailer GoG announced that it would soon be opening up pre-orders for Grim Fandango: Remastered. That was followed up by Double Fine confirming the overhauled edition and stating that pre-orders would indeed open up for all platforms later today. And that time is now.
All assets, environments and textures have been replaced with new high-definition ones in Grim Fandango: Remastered. The lighting has been improved and the game’s musical score has been completely re-orchestrated. There will also be an inclusion of a couple of hours of developer commentary.
Grim Fandango: Remastered is priced at $14.99 and will be a Cross-Buy title for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. In addition, those who pre-order Grim Fandango: Remastered through the PlayStation Network will receive a special PlayStation 4 dynamic theme as a pre-order bonus. Aside from the PlayStation platforms, the game is also available on the PC and Mac.
The existence of a remastered version of the game came to light late last year through Tim Schafer, who announced that the game would be releasing by the end of January. That has now been confirmed through a product listing that tells the release date of January 27.
According to the minimum system requirements posted on GoG, the game will demand a Dual Core CPU, 4 GB of RAM, ATI Radeon HD 4650 (512MB) or NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT and 4.5 GB of Hard Drive space.
