New Breakout Mode Added to Halo 5: Guardians Beta
343 Industries is already looking to bolster the ongoing Halo 5: Guardians beta with more options and content.
The developer is now introducing Breakout, a game-type focused on extremely fast gameplay and which spawns players with one life per round. The next time you log into the game for play, you will be able to catch Breakout in the rotation. Currently it’s available with only two maps: Crossfire and Trench.
Feel free to spray and pray, for with just a single life, your chances of getting lucky are at an all time high. The team to take the first five rounds wins the match.
Additionally 343 Industries has swapped two new maps into the Slayer playlist: Regret and Eden. Regret is a variant of Truth, and Eden of Empire.
Finally, the developer noted that based on community demand, players will be able to wield the Hydra MLRS, a brand-new weapon to the Halo universe, while slaying on Regret.
The Halo 5: Guardians beta began earlier this week, where Microsoft also detailed three pre-order packages containing exclusive Halo merchandise:
- Standard Edition: for $59.99 – Halo 5: Guardians plus an exclusive poster1, only available to those who pre-order
- Limited Edition: for $99.99 – Everything in the Standard Edition plus new digital content to enhance Spartan combat and exclusive items wrapped in a uniquely designed steel book
- Limited Collector’s Edition: for $249.99 – Everything in the Limited Edition as well as additional content such as a commemorative numbered statue designed by 343 Industries
The game is expected to launch in Fall 2015 exclusively for Xbox One.
