Dota 2 Reaches 10 Million Active Unique Players Worldwide

By   /   Jan 2, 2015

Dota 2 is, no doubt, one of the most popular games in the market and has reached a new and very impressive milestone. Fans will be happy to know that Dota 2 reached 10 million unique active users last month.

I don’t really play much of it, to be honest, but since Lizard Squad took down PSN and Xbox Live, I turned to PC and spend most of my Christmas playing the incredible Dota 2. So I proudly contributed to this 10 million milestone, even though I really suck at this game.

The news of this achievement was revealed on the official Dota 2 website showing the figure to be exactly 10,017,953. I took a screenshot and posted it above, check it out or visit the Dota 2 website here.

These figures are impressive, but it will be very interesting to see the number of active users of rival League of Legends. Hopefully, Riot Games will release new stats to attend to our curiosity.

League of Legends came out in 2009 and back in January, 2014 it was revealed that around 27 million users play this game on a daily basis. I don’t know about the latest figures but they will still be on the rise, considering the popularity of the game.

League of Legends had a 5 years head start and Dota 2 still has a long way to go. Dota 2 is available free of cost and you can download a copy on Steam.
