Resident Evil HD Remaster PlayStation Cross-Buy Support Confirmed

An updated store listing has revealed that Resident Evil HD Remaster will feature cross-buy support between the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.

Pre-ordering the game for one console will net you another version for the other.

“Pre-Ordering Resident Evil entitles you to both the PS4™ and PS3™ versions of the game,” reads the game’s official Store page. “You’ll also receive an exclusive theme for your PS3™ system’s XMB™ menu screen in your download list after checking out. Play the game on 1/20/15 starting midnight Eastern.”

There’s no mention of how long this offer will stay valid.

Resident Evil HD Remaster will see to vast improvements through better environments, more story details, a variety of new gameplay elements and improved overall visuals. The game will also feature support for 5.1 surround sound audio and importantly 1080p visuals.

That said, players will still have the option of switching between either the original 4:1 ratio or the new 16:9 one.

It’s scheduled for release on January 20 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
