Well, this will be highly disappointing for some of you – especially the fans of Transformers Universe. The team based third person MMO is shutting down although it was still in the open beta phase.

The news came in from the official website of Transformers Universe where developers Jagex Game Studio and Hasbro have jointly confirmed the decision and outlined the process of shutting down the game:

The shutdown period will begin from today. As part of the winding down we will be refunding all those that have purchased a Founders Pack, as well as anyone that has purchased relic bundles and starter packs.

These refunds should be all processed in the next 30 days. In addition we will be closing the ability for new players to make accounts, those of you that already have accounts will continue to be able to use them until the closure date.

The full closure of Transformers Universe is going to take effect at exactly 10am GMT on January 31, 2015. So that is the time you have for having all the fun you want.

Jagex and Hasbro have said that the decision has been taken as a result of the studios’ realigning of their plans for the coming year.

An update will also be released today that will immediately shutdown the ability to buy relic packs or starter bundles.

In case you have any queries that you need answered, you should go to the forums and talk to the developers. As far as the refunds are concerned, you will get them by January 16, if you don’t, you should contact on this email ID: tu_refunds@support.jagex.com.
