Assassin’s Creed: Unity Latest Patch Re-Downloading the Whole Game On Xbox One

By   /   Dec 17, 2014

Yet another patch for Assassin’s Creed: Unity was rolled out today for all platforms but Xbox One users got a lot more than they expected in an unexpected way.

The update weighs in at 6.7GB but Xbox One users when applying this patch are getting 40GB of download.

Ubisoft has stated that this is an error in the update which instead of installing only the patch files, is re-downloading the whole game.

Unfortunately, an issue with the patch downloading process is replacing the entire game instead of just the parts affected by the patch. This is obviously not the expected behavior, and we apologize that many of you will have to wait longer than expected to complete this download.

If you own a physical disc of Assassin’s Creed: Unity then try uninstalling and re-installing, which will restart the whole process of downloading the patch.

However, those of you with digital version are stuck until the patch to fix the problem caused by this patch has been released.

We are working with Microsoft on a solution to reduce the total download to the intended size so that you can get back into the game faster, but as of now we have no ETA on when this will be resolved.

Issues like these are extremely annoying for the players, as they already had to wait for the patches to fix the original game, and now they have to wait for the patches to fix the errors that have been caused by the patches.
