New AMD Catalyst Omega Driver Software Enhances Game Visuals
Recently, AMD has announced a new Catalyst Omega Driver Software with an aim to improve the performance of your computers by means of better software rather than by having to improve the hardware.
The said driver is also being made available for free in the form of a special edition. Those who download the new AMD Catalyst Omega Driver are going to get as many as 20 new features as well as numerous patches that will fix issues from the previous iteration.
One of the highlights among the features you are going to get includes downsampling. The manufacturers are claiming that you are expected to experience up to 19 percent improvement in how the AMD Radeon cards work and as much as 29 percent improvement in the APUs.
AMD global technical marketing lead Robert Hallock was recently interviewed where he explained these features as well as some others:
If you have a 1080p monitor, we can render the video at a much better resolution, then the card will scale the image down to fit the user’s display. The result is the user will get full-screen, supersampled anti-aliasing in any game that they play.
We’ll let gamers tap into extra performance for free. This is the one driver this year that you really want to update, if you don’t do it regularly.
Virtual Super Resolution and artifact removal are two other special features you are going to get. So you are definitely looking at better images as you can see in the image below.
This AMD Catalyst Omega driver is free and I think you should definitely give it a try. Oh and do come back and tell us what you think.
