H1Z1 Early Access Release Dated January 15; Two Versions Incoming
Have you been waiting for the H1Z1 early access all along? Well, the wait is almost over as SOE has announced an official launch date of January 15, 2015.
John Smedley, the president of Sony Online Entertainment took to Reddit for the announcement alongside some other details of the features of the H1Z1 early access release:
After a lot of hard work, we’ve decided to make the release date January 15th, 2015. This gives us just enough time to polish what we have and put out something we’ll be proud of and hopefully you’ll be excited to play.
Of course that is not all what he had to share, he explained that it took them longer because until now, the game wasn’t good enough. Now it is ‘a fun and compelling game that isn’t finished.’ In fact, Smedley has clearly stated that if you are looking for a finished game, you should not buy this.
Moving on, there are going to be 2 SKUS; one being the basic version priced for $19.99 and another, more expensive one that is going to be announced later. Even with the former you will be able to have a ‘great time’ he says.
One of the differences between the two is going to be access to numerous game mode servers.
In the end, he stated that the H1Z1 early access is not going to be better than the DayZ Day 1; some of the cool stuff will be missing and the game isn’t going to be as ‘feature rich’ as DayZ was at Day 1.
However, I am sure the early access is there to get the game up to the mark for being a good MMO, don’t you think?
