Bloodborne’s Chalice Dungeon Debuts at PlayStation Experience
We now know that the previously teased ‘randomly generated area’ beneath the city of Yharnam is called the Chalice Dungeon in Bloodborne.
Showcased during the ongoing PlayStation Experience in Las Vegas, the “multilayered underground room” was revealed to feature three layers that are laden with puzzles, traps, and hideous monsters.
From a live demonstration conducted on stage by From Software, the player can be assisted by others and progression unlocks new areas for exploration. In the video we also got treated to a boss fight against an ancient being which is just one of the many beings you’ll come across when moving through the Chalice Dungeon.
The dungeon rearranges itself every time it is entered by a player. The developer also said that the idea behind the “ever changing” dungeon is to give players the opportunity to share the dungeons with their friends. The notion was probably to incite replay value where you can play with your friends through numerous versions.
Bloodborne is scheduled for release exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on March 24 in North America and March 27 in the UK.
