The Banner Saga 2 Announced by Stoic Studio at The Game Awards 2014

By   /   Dec 6, 2014

The Game Awards 2014 was held just hours ago and the show was packed with gaming news and details. Among the reveal of a new cinematic trailer for PS4 exclusive The Order 1886 and the world premier of Metal Gear Online, the was another exciting announcement.

At the event, developer Stoic Studio revealed that they are working on a sequel of The Banner Saga. That’s right, the epic viking-themed-RPG is getting a new installment, The Banner Saga 2.

Fans who want to know more about the game will be disappointed to know that, apart from the confirmation of its existence, Stoic Studio didn’t mention a release date or even a platform for that matter.

The Original Banner Saga is available for Microsoft Windows, in addition to mobile platforms such as Android and iOS.

Stoic confirmed last month that The Banner Saga will be heading to the PS4 in early 2015. Now that, the sequel is revealed after the confirmation of a PS4 version of the original, it seems that The Banner Saga 2 will have PS4 as one of its platforms.

Still, this is only a speculation and we should wait to hear something solid, from official sources before jumping to any conclusions.

The Banner Saga series features turn-based strategy gameplay with classic 2D animations and a compelling story. I am certainly interested to know more about the sequel. More news about the game is expected in the coming weeks.
