The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth Gets Lake-Town Update
Mobile game, The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth, has put out version 12.0. Its main addition from the update is called the Lake-town Expansion Pack.
In the new location, players will be able to find new rare pearl resources, exclusive to Lake-town. There are also pikeman and longbowmen available as units.
Version 12.0 comes with ten new human heroes, such as a Bard, as well as another mysterious person.
Movie fans will realize that the timely update comes right on schedule for a new cinema release. The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies will debut on December 17, 2014.
The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth is said to have “hefty ties to the upcoming new Hobbit film.” As such, you can expect special in-game events to happen alongside the movie’s launch.
As a game that allows for city building, unit training and the conquering of other lands, this strategy title is just one more in the line of Clash of Clans follow-ups currently flooding the mobile market. Still, it seems to work for publisher Kabam, who isn’t shy of some shameless tactics, which their Wartune property would indicate.
Since its inception in 2012, The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth has amassed millions of players worldwide. The mobile game has grossed more than $100 million.
For those who are really interested in what the update has to offer, there’s a The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth Magazine app with explanations.
The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth is available both on iOS and Android as a free-to-play release.
