Capcom Files Trademark for Dragon’s Dogma Online

By   /   Dec 5, 2014

Capcom is being reported to have had trademarked “Dragon’s Dogma Online” in Europe through the OHIM (Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market) website.

The trademark was filed today on December 5 and comes just a week after Capcom updated its website to tease something related to Dragon’s Dogma. We’d like to think it’s a full blown sequel.

With the scarce information present right now, we can’t really assume from the name alone as to what Dragon’s Dogma Online really is. It could be laying heavy focus on online play and fans may finally get a sequel that features solid co-op playability.

However, it could also be a working title and Capcom can always rename it in the end. There’s also the speculation that this could be a re-branding of its dungeon RPG Deep Down. At least I hope that’s not the case.

Over a week ago, we reported of how producer Jun Takeuchi mentioned in the last issue of Famitsu that Capcom’s new title would “turn heads overseas.”

The official Dragon’s Dogma website shared our article and further teased everyone by asking: “Devil May Cry? Dragon’s Dogma 2? What could this be? What are you hoping for?”

PlayStation Experience takes place tomorrow and Capcom designer Yoshinori Ono will be present there. We already expect him to announce the new Street Fighter V, which was leaked today. Expect something related to Dragon’s Dogma as well.
