Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Hitting PSN as Digital Download

By   /   Dec 3, 2014

Konami is bringing Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots to the PlayStation Network as a digital download for the PlayStation 3.

Launched in 2008, the title will be available for purchase later this month on December 16 and will cost $19.99 / €19.99. Note that the installment will weigh in at a hefty 30 GB and so if you’re deciding on making some extra space, do so now.

This is the first time that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots has been featured online as a digital download. Prior to the announcement, the game has only been available on disc.

The game is set in the future where players fill the shoes of an aging Solid Snake to take on one last mission – to find and kill Revolver Ocelot. At the same time, the Patriots have been keeping themselves busy by installing artificial intelligence systems around the world to try and control it.

The new installment in the series, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, is scheduled for release at some point in 2015.

Konami has yet to reveal a release date, but last week it did however announce that The Game Awards 2014 on Friday will feature a premiere of Metal Gear Online.
