Creative Assembly Announces Free-to-Play Total War Battles: Kingdom

By   /   Dec 3, 2014

Creative Assembly is developing a new free-to-play game called Total War Battles: Kingdom for the PC and tablets.

The title merges tactical military warfare with building simulation. Players will be tasked with building their cities, creating armies and dueling with their neighbors.

With success, time and collected resources, players can then upgrade their cities for more productivity and armies for additional units and strength. Players will also be able to join massive multiplayer wars against other players in a fight for the throne.

“Adding depth, persistency, and learning from our experience with Total War Battles: Shogun, we wanted to create a new way of playing Total War Battles. Whether that’s on the move or at work over lunch,” said digital project lead Renaud Charpentier.

“It shouldn’t matter where you want to play; we want to make it easy to come back again and again to your flourishing Kingdom. Then, we ramp up the complexity and challenge, adding more options to your Machiavellian schemes.”

He also added that Total War Battles: Kingdom is “bigger, richer, and [features] deeper gameplay” than other free-to-play games. Players can opt to play the game on the platform of their choosing and can switch between platforms on the fly.

The game is set in 10th-century England when the nation is emerging from the Dark Ages. You can register now to apply for closed beta access.
