Policeman Holds Guinness World Record of Biggest Nintendo Collection

How big would be the biggest Nintendo collection of the world? How about 8,000 items?!

That is true, the Guinness World Record for the Biggest Nintendo Collection was broken recently with that figure; but that is not what makes it interesting. The thing that makes it interesting is who the owner is.

His name is Ahmed bin Fahad, a 33 year old UAE national and he happens to be a policeman.

The guy owns thousands of rare games and arcade units that he has been collecting since the past three decades i.e. from the 80’s! His hobby is expensive, around an estimated 1.5million Dirhams, but he has a point to prove and so he thinks the money was well spent:

It is a very expensive hobby, but I wanted to set this record to give a message to the world that Arabs are not only interested in speeding cars and flashy things. Some of these tapes are like gold. It is a very expensive hobby but I will continue to do it. It is like my showroom – at home we call it ‘the tent’.

When the Guinness World Record was broken, the list’s rarest item was a Nintendo M8 Demo Unit from a kiosk in 1980s; he also has every single edition of Zelda and Super Mario.

So what exactly does he do to make sure he owns the rarest of them all? Well, firstly he always buys two items of every kind (uses one and keeps one); secondly, he would sometimes buy stacks of consoles together so that he is equipped in case one of the consoles gets damaged.

That is a journey of life, since he has been playing since he was five years old, what would you give for a collection like that!
