Alone in the Dark: Illumination Details Shared by the Developer
Alone in the Dark has been around for a while now and Illumination is a modern iteration of this classic franchise.
The game is an FPS PC exclusive title that features trademark spooky environments and gruesome monsters.
There are 4 classes in the game, Hunter, Witch, Priest and the Engineer. As you progress further in the game, you can unlock these classes.
All four of them have different abilities and can be useful in a variety of ways. As explained in the video here, monsters in the game are weakened by light, so you can use that to your advantage.
Each class in the game carry a different source of light. For example, the hunter carries a flame thrower, which he can use to illuminate areas or to burn down his enemies.
On the other hand, the priest can summon something called “light of god” and use it as a source of light.
That being said, it is to be noted that the use of these abilities or weapons is limited. Meaning you’ll need to find ammo for the flamethrower and whatever is needed to power the “light of god.”
Also, 4 player co-op is an integral part of the game. You can play with your friends and use different classes or you can all play as the same class and customize your character, to give it a unique look.
Alone in the Dark: Illumination will be released later this year on Steam for $29.99.
