Splatoon Screenshots Detail Octopus Corps, Turf Wars and More
Nintendo EAD Group No. 2 might be all Japanese but their game Splatoon is getting major attention all over the globe. They recently detailed many of the game’s features – albeit in Japanese – that we would love to try out.
The official Twitter profile of the game received a boatload of tweets from the developers (thanks NeoGAF for the translations) where they have talked about the army of Octopi, Turf Wars features and a lot more.
An image of the Octopus Corps base was shared along with more images of the Octopi themselves; they are mostly octopus legs, but they still are dangerous! They have this underground world of theirs and are longing for the Squid world above them. An attack on the protagonist’s world is incoming.
Talking of legs, an image of an enemy type was also shared that uses some kind of a hoverboard to move around (what else could it do, the enemy is nothing but a single octopus leg itself). Don’t take it easy though, it can throw vicious ink at you!
As you would already know, the characters in the game use inks to fight their way. the Squid ink provides more of an escape route from the predators and the octopus ink on the other hand create something like a smoke screen.
In the Turf Wars there are special weapons that you will be able to use. Splashing the ground with paint gives you powers like Barrier, which will reflect the incoming attacks from the army.
Splatoon is a 4v4 third person shooter with a single player campaign where you are an inkling that can change forms between humans and squid. You splash the world with your type of ink to mark the territory and make way forward.
The game is slated for a release on Wii U in the second quarter of 2015.
