We have always known that Pokemon games sell like candy; Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are no different.

According to this report by Japanese magazine Famitsu, the latest iteration in the series by Game Freak has already sold 1.5 million copies. Wait, there is more; the sales figures provided were achieved only in the first three days since the release of the twin games i.e. between November 21 and November 23.

The exact number of units sold is 1,534,593 which only constitutes of the physical sales that have been made in the Japan region. Estimates for the digital sales are yet to be shared.

If you compare the sales figures with other Nintendo 3DS titles from the past; Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire has attained the fourth rank in the most sold games on the handheld. The top three are Pokemon X & Y, Monster Hunter 4 and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate – in that order.

Parallel to this, we have also picked up good tidings for Nintendo’s handheld sales. The combined figures for Nintendo 3DS, New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS LL reached 83,129 in the previous week as compared to 51,390 units that were sold in the week prior to this one.

That is definitely because of the latest Pokemon games.

Last but not the least, if you are playing the games we suggest you check out some of the guides that we have written to help you with the vast experience they provide.

Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire were probably the two most anticipated releases for Nintendo 3DS; while the games have been released elsewhere, the European Union fans are looking at a November 28 release.
