Assassin’s Creed Unity – Ubisoft Offers Free Game and The Dead Kings DLC as Apology
As a token of apology to its consumer base for being baited into buying the broken mess we know as Assassin’s Creed Unity, Ubisoft has just announced that ‘The Dead Kings’ DLC from the game’s Season Pass will be available to everyone for free.
Additionally, the publisher will be sending out a free Ubisoft game to all who already have purchased the Season Pass. Current owners will have a choice from Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Rayman Legends, Watch Dogs, Far Cry 4, The Crew and Just Dance 2015.
I would personally recommend opting for Far Cry 4. The game still has some kinks when it comes to optimization on the PC but it still is working beautifully well compared to Unity.
Finally, as of now the Season Pass is no longer available for purchase. Until the game is stabilized, it makes little sense in putting out more content when the one already present is not working right.
Assassin’s Creed: Unity just received a massive third patch on the PlayStation 4, with the Xbox One and PC versions to follow in the next couple of days.
The latest update promises to fix an abundance of issues concerning gameplay. A future patch will look into the stuttering frame rates, or so has the publisher promised.
Assassin’s Creed: Unity was hyped as a major leap in the franchise but it was apparently one that fell short of its mark. We’re used to seeing poorly ported Ubisoft titles on the PC but in this case, the publisher decided to rank up by pushing out abysmal versions across all platforms.
