The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth Looks For Community Help With Items
Developer Edmund McMillen has posted more details about a planned expansion for The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. Work on the new content will start once McMillen joins back up with the Nicalis crew after the holiday season.
There’s a bunch of stuff planned for the expansion. Some of that includes a new game mode. McMillen states that there will be “almost double the amount of things you can do” in the game.
Aside from a game mode, the update will have more enemies, bosses, areas, a new character and alternate endings. Of course, new items are planned as well.
For that last part, the developer looks to the sizable community for The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. Suggestions for new items are welcome now and come with a few guidelines:
- Suggest item effects only, not names or themes.
- Don’t suggest redundant items, which exist in some form
- Don’t include items that are too complex
The top 10 ideas will be chosen by McMillen and put in The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth.
In earlier news, the developers expressed their disappointment with previous content from the game that had already been mined by the community. Due to the extended sleuthing, extras are likely to not be hidden inside the expansion from here on out.
After what seems like a long development period, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth released to the welcoming arms of the cult following its original had made. Instead of selling for €5, the remake is able to sustain decent sales at a price of €14.99.
Since its release early this month, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth has managed to clamp on to the top sellers on Steam consistently.
