Irrational Games is Hiring Staff For Its Next Project

By   /   Nov 24, 2014

Earlier this year, Irrational Games laid-off the majority of its staff which included 70 permanent employees and 5 contractors. Now they are hiring again.

The company is known for its work on the original Bioshock, Bioshock Infinite, Freedom Force and more. Their previous games were received well by both fans and critics, so their next project is definitely something to look out for.

Though, the upcoming project isn’t yet announced but we now know that irrational games is hiring staff to work on it.

According to a job listing on the company’s official website, they are looking for a senior programmer. Preferably, someone with experience in Unreal Engine 4 and Unreal Engine 3. Multiplayer is a plus.

The senior programmer ad doesn’t reveal much except Al and animation systems.

Irrational Games has previously revealed a change in direction and has stated that they will focus on smaller projects. These projects will be narrative-driven and digitally delivered.

Studio founder Ken Levine stated:

“…To meet the challenge ahead, I need to refocus my energy on a smaller team with a flatter structure and a more direct relationship with gamers. In many ways, it will be a return to how we started: a small team making games for the core gaming audience.”

Whatever this new project may be, Irrational Games is certainly talented enough to make something special for us to enjoy, even if it’s not a project as big as Bioshock. We can expect to hear something regarding this title in the coming months.
