Dragon Age Inquisition Mounts Locations Guide – How to Get

By   /   Nov 22, 2014

Mounts in Dragon Age: Inquisition are ride-able creatures. These mounts can be purchased, found, or acquired as quest rewards. It is a good idea to acquire a mount as early as possible!

You can summon a mount anywhere you want except inside buildings and underground areas. Furthermore, mounts are immortal, stay with you throughout the game, and do not take any fall-damage. If a mount takes any damage during battle, it will simply disappear from the scene.

While you are riding a mount, you will not be able to scan an area. Therefore, you will have to scan an area on foot.

Dragon Age Inquisition Mounts

During early game, you will not be able to keep multiple mounts. However, after moving in Skyhold, you will unlock a stable where you will be able to store multiple mounts. Check out sections below for more information on getting free mounts and list of purchasable mounts:

How to Acquire First Mount Free
In order to acquire a free mount, you need to travel to The Hinterlands. Head towards farthest western side to find Master of Horses side-quest. You can reach this area near the west side of the Redcliffe Farms Camp.

You need to go up the hill and come across Master Dannet. You need to speak to him and agree on his terms and conditions. Once you have spoken to him, Dannet will provide you with a Feredlen Forder. Grab the horse and set out to explore more of Thedas.

How to Acquire War Nug Mount
To get this combat mount, you need to head towards Val Royeaux and find a merchant named Deraboam. He resides in a small stony building with a blue door. Head inside this stony building and interact with a Treasure Chest inside to find a unique item called The Mystery Box.

Buy it for 10,000 coins and unlock ‘The Big One?’ mission on Global War Board. Once this is done, send one of your advisers on this mission and they will come back with this mount.
