New Tony Hawk Pro Skater Confirmed for PS4 and Xbox One

A new Tony Hawk Pro Skater game is heading for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next year, and it’s said to take full advantage of the new hardware.

Appearing on TMZ Sports this week, the skateboarding icon Tony Hawk revealed more details about the new entry in his Pro Skater series.

“I’m working on a video game,” he confirmed. “We’re gonna have a new console game for the new consoles next year. A new Tony Hawk Pro Skater, yeah.”

This isn’t the first time we heard about the game. Hawk mentioned the title earlier this month on Twitter where he revealed that Activision is the acting publisher. A developer, however, has still not been named.

Neversoft, which is largely the reason the franchise became popular, was shut down by Activision and merged with Infinity Ward in July to work on its Call of Duty series. It’s certain that it will not be involved in the game’s development this time around.

Hawk continued saying that alongside the new console game, he’s also working on a new mobile game. This is not Tony Hawk’s Shred Session, which was announced earlier this year but was soon after “put on hold indefinitely” by Activision.

The skater also provided a release window, saying that the game will hit consoles “late next year.”
