Blizzard Apologizes for Warlords of Draenor’s Rough Launch, Offers Compensation
The release of Warlords of Draenor was marred with some serious technical issues which prevented the players from joining the expansion.
There is a very large community for the game and they were all looking forward to try out the new expansion but that couldn’t happen. To make matters even worse, the servers were hit with DDoS attacks.
Blizzard is well aware of the frustration caused to the players by these issues and today, executive producer J. Allen Brack on the game’s official forums has issued an apology to the community, and revealed a surprise gift as compensation.
I hope you’ll accept my apology and keep your faith in us. The support voiced by many of you as we worked through the challenges was immensely appreciated.
We’re extremely grateful to be part of such a passionate community. We love World of Warcraft, and we’re very proud of this expansion, so stumbling out of the gates like this was very disappointing for all of us.
He continued on to mention that as compensation, Blizzard is going to give the players in Americas, Oceania and Europe five days of free subscription time, even if they own Warlords of Draenor or not.
Furthermore, he said that things are better than before and the team is working day in and day out to ensure that players will get the experience that they rightly deserve.
Some issues are still there, but players who have managed to get into Warlords of Draenor, have only good things to say about it.
Hopefully, Blizzard will come up with the complete fix sooner rather than later.
