Looking for true Halo: The Master Chief Collection experience? LASO playthough is the way to go! This is where things become a nightmare.

Those who aren’t aware of what LASO is, it’s an acronym designed to complete the Campaign on Legendary Difficulty Setting with every Skull Modifier activated, i.e. Legendary All Skulls On.

For more help on Halo: The Master Chief Collection, read our Par Score and Part Time, Halo 3 Easter Eggs Locations and Halo 2 Easter Eggs Locations.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection Legendary All Skulls On

There are total five Achievements tied to LASO Playthroughs across all Halo titles. Furthermore, it’s better to complete these playthrough with some friends who are better at the game.

Since Skull Modifiers alter the game in certain ways, these playthroughs will test the mettle of true Halo veterans.

Halo: Combat Evolved
Like I’ve mentioned above, LASO Playthrough can be completed in both Solo and Co-Op Modes – and it’s better to complete them in co-op. Furthermore, not at Skull Modifiers are activated at once. In the section below, I’ll provide a complete rundown of every activated Skull Modifiers.

While you’re playing LASO Playthrough, make sure to pick off targets one by one from a good distance.

Another thing to keep in mind is that your shield won’t recharge until you melee an enemy; therefore, it’s a good idea to melee a weaker enemy once in a while to replenish your shield.

And lastly, grenades do far more damage in LASO playthough; so make sure to use this to your advantage and flood large group of enemies with grenades.

  • Black Eye – Your shields only recharge when you melee enemies
  • Boom – Explosions have twice the damage radius
  • Fog – The motion tracker is disabled
  • Eye Patch – Auto aim features disabled for all weapons
  • Foreign – Players cannot pick up or use Covenant weapons
  • Famine – Weapons dropped by AI have half the ammo they normally would
  • Malfunction – Every time you respawn, a random element of your HUD is disabled
  • Recession – Every shot is worth twice the ammo

Halo 2
Once again, make sure to pick off targets one by one from a good distance.

You’ll come across some enemies who will be permanently cloaked. One good way of identifying their position is by seeing their shots and grenade throws. In addition to this, you’ll not be able to see your HUD or weapon on screen which may take some time to get used to.

Lastly, you may face some difficulty while completing missions like Metropolis as you won’t be able to drive any vehicles until they are jacked.

In the section below, I’ve provided a complete list of Skull Modifiers for this game:

  • Anger – Enemies fire their weapons faster and more frequently
  • Assassins – All enemies in the game are permanently cloaked
  • Black Eye – Your shields only recharge when you melee enemies
  • Blind – HUD and weapon do not display onscreen
  • Boom – Explosions have twice the damage radius
  • Catch – Enemies throw and drop more grenades
  • Fog – The motion tracker is disabled
  • Eye Patch – Auto aim features disabled for all weapons
  • Famine – Weapons dropped by AI have half the ammo they normally would
  • Iron – Death carries a heavy price. Dying in co-op resets you at your last saved checkpoint
  • Jacked – Players can only enter ground vehicles by boarding
  • Malfunction – Every time you respawn, a random element of your HUD is disabled
  • Master Blaster – One player’s shields recharge to overshield level and can only melee while the second player has no shields but infinite ammo
  • Mythic – Enemies have increased health
  • Recession – Every shot is worth twice the ammo. Save those bullets, playa.
  • SO…ANGRY… – Enraged Brutes explode like a frag grenade if not dispatched within seconds. Base Brute score values are increased.
  • Streaking – Player shields constantly decay at a slow pace but recharge some with every enemy kill.
  • That’s Just…Wrong – Increases enemy awareness of player.

  • Thunderstorm – Upgrades the rank of most enemies

Halo 3
LASO Playthrough can be completed in both Solo and Co-Op Modes – and it’s better to complete them in co-op. Furthermore, not at Skull Modifiers are activated at once.

Halo 4
Once again, do note that not all Skull Modifiers are activated technically.

Before starting the mission, you need to ensure that you opt for Battle Rifle or Light Rifle and pick off enemies one by one instead of going in directly – you’ll get shredded.

Furthermore, you won’t be able to see your weapon or HUD and it might take some time to get used to it. Since dying will restart the mission, it’s advised that you try and complete these missions with other players and have better communication.

Always aim for the weak points on enemies and shower them with grenades for increased damage. In this section below, I’ll provide all the Skull Modifiers that are activated in the game:

  • Black Eye – Your shields only recharge when you melee enemies
  • Blind – HUD and weapon do not display onscreen
