Whether it’s background score from Halo: Combat Evolved or Bungie’s Co-Founder stuck in Halo universe in his pyjamas, Halo 3 has quite a lot of offer in terms of Easter Eggs.

Halo Master Chief Collection Halo 3 Easter Eggs Locations

In this guide, I’ll share some of the Easter Eggs that we’ve found throughout our Halo: The Master Chief Collection Journey (In Halo 3). If you’ve something to add, do share it with us in the comments below!

Haplorrhini, Missing Link and Primate
This Easter Egg can be found during Sierra 117.

In the first mission of Campaign, there are hidden cavemen who can be found in the three different locations in the African Jungle. Here’s a quick rundown of where you’ll find all cavemen:

  • The first one can be found high in the tree lane which runs alongside the river where Johnson’s Pelican falls. You’ll need to use a zoomed-in rifle to spot the caveman.
  • Continue forward and stick to the left side. Jump on the rocks and get to the highlands where a family of cavemen awaits you.
  • The final cavemen is located in the area where Sergeant Johnson is held captive. Stand on the bridge where Hocus picks you and zoom in with your rifle to find him.

Can’t Keep Him Down
Chips Dubbo: this Private First Class is an Australian Marine and fights with UNSC. You’ll often recognize him during the battle from his accent and witty remarks.

You don’t have to do anything extra to make this Achievement pop.

Milk Carton
This Easter Egg can be found during The Storm. Near the very end of mission, you’ll reach the Prophet of Truth’s Hologram Console. From this point, head inside the small alleyway on the left side.

The poster that you seek is inside one of the storage units on the left side. Use the scope of your rifle to view it and unlock the Achievement.

Dirge of Madrigal
In order to listen to this musical Easter Egg, you need to play The Ark mission. Defeat the two Scarabs and fly your Hornet on the left side of the Citadel.

Once this is done, fly up the Hornet on the edge of the structure and go along the platform. You’ll begin hearing the sound effect at the very top of the incline.

For better reference, you need to fly up to the building where Truth is located.

Heading to His Destiny
To get this Easter Egg, start Halo mission and get to the seventh Terminal inside the cavern. You need to head inside the secret area located opposite of this Terminal to find the Easter Egg.

In order to get there, you need to stand on the ledge in front of the corridor ahead and grenade jump into the chasm. From this point, you need to jump into the small alcove on the left side.

Once you’re inside, check the farthest left corner of the area to find Bungie’s Co-Founder Jason Jones.

Cool Story Bro!
This Easter Egg can be found during Halo mission. You’ll find the Grunt near the very end of the mission. Go down the ramp that leads to the hanger of Forward Unto Dawn.

Once you’re down the ramp, veer right to get to a narrow pathway at the end. Continue on this pathway and you’ll find the lone Grunt at the end of it. You need to listen to Grunt’s complete story to complete this mission!

Flipyap
This Easter Egg can be triggered in any mission as long as you’ve the IWHBYD skull activated. Grunts will occasionally tell the tale of Flipyap after a Grunt near their location has died.

Proceed through the mission slowly and keep most of the Grunts alive to listen to the tale.

Sounds Familiar
This musical Easter Egg can be found on the High Grounds, Multiplayer Map. In order to get this, you need to head towards the northern end of the map and head inside the main computer room.

You’ll see a large radio underneath a computer. All you need to do is to stand near the radio for a couple of minutes and listen to Under Cover of Night from Halo: Combat Evolved.
