Just Cause 3’s World Spans Across 400 Square Miles, Retooled Controls and More

More information about the recently announced Just Cause 3 has made its way to the web, courtesy of the December edition of Game Informer.

The latest installment in the series will take place “several years” after the events of Just Cause 2. It though will still feature Rico as the main character, who has “significantly aged” with time.

Like before, Rico will have access to a number of items, including some new ones such as the ability to shoot a grappling hook that can latch on to almost any object. There’s also a new wing suit for players to try out that can propel Rico to incredible speeds while falling from the sky.

Just Cause 3 will take place in the fictional Mediterranean archipelago of Medici, where players will go against General Di Ravello and his ironfisted regime. It has been also confirmed that the new world will span across 400 square miles.

This map will be divided between three segments and feature plenty of enemy bases, propaganda billboards, and loudspeakers. Destroying the latter is necessary to capture the area, enable a fast travel network and store vehicles.

The control scheme has been “retooled” and players should find it “a lot tighter.”

Just Cause 3 was announced yesterday and will release in 2015 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game will not be free-to-play, as earlier rumors suggested and there won’t be any microtransactions at all.
