Halo Master Chief Collection: Halo 2 Legendary Skulls Locations

Almost all the skulls have a Legendary difficulty requirement. The only exceptions are the Assassin Skull, I Would Have Been Your Daddy skull, and Blind Skull, which can be found in any difficulty.

Below is the effect and location of each and every skull in Halo 2.

Whuppopotamus Skull
Effect: AI become more observant, noticing even active camouflage, shadows, the sound of reloading or drawing a weapon, footsteps, etc. They also have better accuracy and are much less likely to kill themselves or their teammates with explosive weapons.

Location: This is one of the more annoying skulls to get. In The Armory, you will have to go with Sergeant Johnson into the elevator.

The problem is that you have to wait for him till he says, “Would I help if I said please?” This can take up to more than 4 minutes of goofing around and doing anything EXCEPT going into the elevator.

Once he finally says that, you need to get into the elevator and go up to the tram. Now head to the extreme left of the tram while facing the INSIDE of the building.

Face the glass window and continuously hold X while the tram goes from right to left. The skull will be on a crate as you pass it, so if you have pressed and held X you will manage to grab it through the glass window.

Thunderstorm Skull
Effect: Promotes most enemies to their highest rank. Does not affect Flood Human Combat Forms or Marines.

Location: This skull is in Cairo Station. In the large room after the armory, there is a light fixture on the right wall which you need to crouch jump on.

From there, jump on to the higher area, go slightly right, and then jump on one of the rails in front. From the rail, walk further right and jump on to the highest platform.

There is a forgettable looking trashcan in a corner here, which you can topple to find the cleverly hidden skull.

Blind Skull
Effect: HUD becomes completely invisible as well as your weapon, except the Energy Sword.

Location: At the start of the mission Outskirts, you’ll have to go into a corridor and kill a Grunt. Backtrack to the door on the right here, and then crouch jump on the light next to it.

Jump again to the ceiling, turn left and go through the narrow pathway to find the skull along with a few grenades.

I Would Have Been Your Daddy
Effect: Rare combat dialogue becomes more common.

Location: This is by far the most annoying and hardest skull to find. It is located in Outskirts, but the problem is that it requires you to have every single checkpoint covered prior to getting the skull.

At the start of the map, run into the first hallway, then jump on the light and go up the same way you did with the Blind skull. From there turn around and run along the thin ledge to the right of the alleyway below.

Across from this alleyway, you will see another platform, which you can jump on. After this, Grenade Jump onto another higher level, and look left to spot a nearby rooftop.

Jump on this rooftop and go to the right and head down that alley, where you’ll be able to jump onto the higher rooftop. Head to the top left corner (make sure you crouch when walking to the corner it helps) and wait for two checkpoints to pass.

Do not move from this point if they haven’t passed. After the second checkpoint when the Pelican leaves, look to the right where the Pelican first spawned, and jump down onto the bridge below.

Perform a grenade jump on the banister and crouch jump onto the rooftop ahead. Next, you want to run forward over to above the small alley where the soldiers are waiting for you.

Wait for the checkpoint there, then backtrack to where you first jumped onto the rooftop in front of the bridge and head left towards where the Pelican leaves.

Run along the rooftops until you reach the flat part of the bridge and jump down. Jump from the bridge into the alley below and run up the ramp. On the right side are a few boxes – jump on them and get onto the roof on the left.

From there, look right and jump onto that rooftop. Head to your left. You should now be on the other side of the sniper alley, facing a small bridge where a sniper spawns.

Head to the right and you’ll see balconies that are connected together. Go to the one furthest from you, and go through the door. If you’ve done everything right, you’ll see the Skull between a sniper and some ammo.

Be warned, the Skull will only appear if you’ve obtained all previous seven checkpoints. There is also a checkpoint over the Skull’s room, so wait to get it before you grab skull. Pat yourself on the back if you managed to do all that.

Catch Skull
Effect: Allies and enemies throw grenades with increased frequency. They will also drop more grenades upon death.

Location: This skull is located in Metropolis. Right after you get out of the tunnels, kill all the Jackal Snipers and everything else first. Once the area is clear, you’ll notice an arch that leads up to onto a building.

You cannot reach this arch normally, so carefully execute a grenade jump so that you can start climbing it. Another way to do this is to grab a ghost, park it in front of the arch, then jump on the ghost and climb it up.

As soon as you get to the top, take a left and just keep hugging the wall to find the skull at the end.

Grunt Birthday Party Skull
Effect: Shoot enemy in the head and they will explode.

Location: The first time you get a banshee in The Arbiter level, fly it to the very bottom of the opposite station.

There is a small platform to the right side where you can land the banshee, after which you can enter a gap. Look on the left and you should spot a few grunts dancing around the skull.

Famine Skull
Effect: Weapons picked up only have half ammo.

Location: In the Oracle level, after the long elevator ride, you’ll go into a room where the flood and Covenant are fighting below you. You have to break the glass to get to where they are.

Grenade jump on the opposite side from where you came on top of the raise platform to reach a new level where you can find the skull.

Envy Skull
Effect: Cloak instead of Flashlight – 5 second cloak with 10 second recharge.

Location: During the Delta Halo mission, when you first come out of the big building and see the turrent and multiple shields on the wall, there is a wall on the left side with two grunt turrets on it.

There is a door being blocked by a rock here. Jump on the rock, then jump on the ledge above the blocked doorway. Turn left, then jump again on to the platform.

Perform a grenade jump here while facing the wall, and you’ll come across two Elites turning invisible. Between them is the Envy Skull.

Assassins Skull
Effect: All enemies in game are permanently cloaked. Friendly AI cannot see them.

Location: In the Regret mission, right after you get off the gondola and go into the structure, there is a big block of stone which you can jump on that leads to a couple of Covenant turret.

Carefully jump on the ledge to the left of left turret and then face the fall and jump again. Follow the path down all the way till the end. You’ll find two invisible Elites with swords and the skull between them.

Mythic Skull
Effect: Enemy health and shields becomes equivalent to the next highest difficulty.

Location: This skull is located in Sacred Icon. After coming down from a piston, about halfway through the level, you’ll come to a room completely filled with Flood fog.

Go into the room and you’ll spot a stack of crates. Jump on top of them, then jump again to the higher level. Check the last hole in the wall to find the skull next to a dead Flood.

Sputnik Skull
Effect: Explosions and melee have more of an effect on objects, which may be the result of less gravity. Enemies who are meleed will also be turned around, making for an easy assassination.

Location: In the Quarantine Zone, at the start of the level look to your left for an Elite. Next to the elite is a tunnel which you need to go through.

Head straight after emerging out of the tunnel till you reach a cliff. Carefully get up on the ledge on the left side and move forward all the way to the end till you reach the skull floating in midair.

Angry Skull
Effect: Enemies have a faster fire rate and will shoot more often.

Location: In Gravemind, fight all the way through the Covenant city until you reach the outdoors. As soon as you are outside, stick to the right-hand side and walk along the wall.

You’ll eventually come across a border with red lighting on it. Jump onto this border wall and walk all the way to the end to find the skull on a gravity lift.

Ghost Skull
Effect: Enemies cannot be staggered.

Location: In the Uprising level, once you reach the armory, go through the second door and stand on the lowered portion of the ground. Look towards the door you just came through and perform a grenade jump to the platform above the door to find the Ghost skull.

Iron Skull
Effect: Allies are immune to melee attacks

Location: In High Charity, on the final grav-lift, simply look up. A skull will pass you by. Hold X as it passes you to grab on to it.

Black Eye Skull
Effect: Shields only regenerate with melee attacks.

Location: In the final chapter The Great Journey, after progressing through the level to finally get a banshee (when Sgt Johnson pilots the Scarab), take the Banshee all the way back to the start of the map.

Notice that behind where you started off there is a large pyramid type building which the Scarab will shoot at.

Fly the banshee all the way to the building and try to take the banshee as high as possible over the slope, then exit so that you land on the building and can make your way up.

You need to now go all the way up to back of the structure. To do so, you need to take the ledge to your left (hopefully you landed on the right of the pyramid, since that is the furthest the banshee can fly).

This ledge will lead you around the structure and then down to another large ledge.

Follow the ledge all the way to the back side, then jump on the massive pillar with the light on top. This is basically the back side of this building.

Go all the way up to the light and you will finally find the Black Eye Skull.
