Diablo 3: Season 2 Brings New Conquests, Seasonal Rewards and Legendaries
The arrival of the second season of Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls is upon us and Blizzard wants us to know about some of the major changes players should ready themselves for.
According to a recent Battle.net post, Season 2 will be packed with a fresh round of Seasonal Legendaries. Some of these offerings might look familiar to items featured in the last season, but they will carry “game changing affixes” that weren’t present previously.
This familiar-looking gear won’t drop in non-seasonal games but once Season 2 concludes, they will all return to the general loot pool along with their new affixes.
Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls will also receive plenty of new challenges in the form of Conquests that will encourage players to fight for additional trophies. In contrast to the previous Conquests that according to Blizzard “drove gameplay that was less than desirable,” in Season 2, the new Conquests will “encourage long-term goals.”
Season 2 will also continue with the Conqueror’s transmogrification set. Where the first season awarded level 70 players with two pieces (Helms and Shoulders) of these exclusive accouterments, the second season will allow you to complete the set with Boots and Pants.
Additionally, a new Seasonal reward has also been announced. Players who participate in the Season will also receive an exclusive full Banner set, including Shape, Pattern, Sigil, and Accent. Each piece of this set is unlocked by acquiring Seasonal achievement points. For each 100 points you acquire, you’ll unlock a new piece as follows:
- 100 Points: Shape
- 200 Points: Pattern
- 300 Points: Accent
- 400 Points: Sigil
A tentative release date for Season 2 is still pending but players will be warned of its oncoming “no less than 30 days in advance.”
