Prey 2 Cancelled Officially by Bethesda, Doesn’t Mark the End of Franchise

By   /   Oct 31, 2014

Bethesda has officially confirmed that Prey 2 has been cancelled. During PAX Australia, vice president of the famous publishers, Pete Hines stated that the game didn’t live up to their standards, which is why development was stopped.

It was game we believed in, but we never felt that it got to where it needed to be – we never saw a path to success if we finished it.

It wasn’t up to our quality standard and we decided to cancel it. It’s no longer in development. That wasn’t an easy decision, but it’s one that won’t surprise many folks given that we hadn’t been talking about it.

However, this doesn’t mean that we will not be getting anything in Prey’s universe ever again, as Hines hinted that they can still do something with the franchise.

Human Head Studios is no longer working on. It’s a franchise we still believe we can do something with – we just need to see what that something is.

Prey 2 was officially revealed to be in development in 2011, and a lot of people were eager to see what the future has in store for the title but sadly, there wasn’t much revealed about the game after that.

On a couple of occasions, Bethesda did say that the game was still in development but that was almost a couple of years ago. After that rumors of game being canned did came up but nothing was confirmed until today.
