Far Cry 4 Has Officially Gone Gold, Ubisoft Announced
Far Cry 4 fans will be happy to know that the game has officially gone gold. Development on the game is now complete, and the title is slated for a November 18 release.
In the game, we will take the role to Ajay Ghale, a young man born in Kyrat but raised in America. Coming back to Kyrat for personal reasons, he finds himself in the middle of a civil war.
Ubisoft is calling Far Cry 4 their most “ambitious” work yet and during the reveal of their financial results, the company stated they expect Far Cry 4 to sell around 6 million copies during its first year.
If the game manages to achieve that goal, then it will outperform Far cry 3, which has sold 10 million units since its release.
After the critical and commercial success of the previous game, Far Cry is now one of Ubisoft’s top brands,” says Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing Tony Key. “Far Cry 4 will raise the bar for the series yet again.
The open world of Far Cry 4 is so diverse and has so much to offer, especially its co-op play can be really fun to jump into.
Executive producer Dan Hay stated on Ubiblog that he is proud of what the developers have achieved with Far Cry 4 in terms of “quality and sheer volume.”
“The characters are unique, and your friends will have subtly different experiences with the story. I’m proud of both the quality and the sheer volume in Far Cry 4.”
Far Cry 4 is certainly going to be something really special, if the game is actually able to live up to all the hype surrounding it. It’s a cross-gen title and will be released across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
