Assassin’s Creed: Unity Transports Arno into World War II

A new trailer released for Assassin’s Creed: Unity teases a mysterious section in the game that appears to be set during World War II.

Titled “Time Anomaly,” the trailer takes a break from the French Revolution setting and instead puts Arno on the rooftops of Paris in midst of an air raid. Forget jumping across obstacles and assassinating targets. Some weird time gap has put Arno climbing the Eiffel Tower and taking down enemy warplanes using a machine gun.

“Assassin, watch out the French Revolution simulation is collapsing. I don’t know what time period you’ll end up in.”

From the narration it looks like the Animus Software messed up while trying to recreate Paris and altered the timelines. Hence transporting our lead character into the middle of World War II. Could there be even more historic settings for players to experience?

Previously, a Rift Mode was discovered for the game where players can play as different Assassins in challenge maps set during different periods of history. While I highly doubt a World War II setting is fit for an assassin, it could be just an extra bit of spice from Ubisoft to give players a change of scenery.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity is scheduled for release on November 11 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
