Mortal Kombat to Get a New Live-Action Series with New Characters

Warner Bros have formed a new series production unit called Blue Ribbon Content and assigned it an impressive project to debut into the market: a new Mortal Kombat live-action series!

According to Warner Bros, the new division is going to produce and develop the unnamed series for digital platforms and apart from featuring your favorite characters, introduce new ones:

For Mortal Kombat fans, that means some good news – the next generation of the franchise is coming! In association with the upcoming Mortal Kombat X video game releasing April 14, 2015, Blue Ribbon Content and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment are teaming up on an all-new live-action series that showcases some of the franchise’s most storied characters, while introducing a new generation of fighters.

If you are interested in this you would already be pretty excited about the upcoming game in the series, Mortal Kombat X; if you aren’t, do check out this gameplay trailer that shows Ferra/Tor against Scorpion.

If this doesn’t quench your thirst, may be try out this trailer that revealed Quan Chi has a playable character for the game.

No matter how long it is going to take for them to develop and produce the new series, I just can’t wait to meet the new generation of characters that are expected to come.

Mortal Kombat X is slated for a release in the markets on April 14, 2015 i.e. nearly six months from now. Do you think this time will be enough for Blue Ribbon to churn out a great live action series?
