November Update Brings Custom Backgrounds For Xbox One
The upcoming November system update for the Xbox One carries a lot of treats, including the fulfillment of a long-overdue community request.
Posting on his blog, Microsoft’s Major Nelson spoke about the upcoming features which include custom backgrounds, enhanced Twitter integration and an improved Xbox Live Marketplace.
The option of having custom backgrounds has been one of the top most-requested features by Xbox One owners and next month they’ll finally get their wish. The new system update will allow a custom background for each account on an Xbox One.
“You can choose a custom color or achievement art as your background on Xbox One, with more customization options coming down the road,” said Nelson.
Users will also be able to share their game footage captured with the Xbox One through Twitter and directly with their followers.
The Xbox Live TV app will even allow users to search for shows based on their Twitter popularity and to watch a live feed of Tweets about a specific show within the app.
As for the improved Xbox Live Marketplace, “the Store pages have been improved to enable you to more quickly browse and find content. The navigation buttons were moved to the far left so you can find them easier. You can also more quickly find game add-ons, perform store specific searches and recommendations are more prominently displayed.”
Finally, Nelson concluded, that the store now has more categories and users can easily see the top items in each one in quick time.
