The Crew PC Version’s Frame Rate Would be Adjustable, 60FPS Expected

By   /   Oct 16, 2014

Were you a part of the closed beta phase of The Crew? If not, let me tell you that the rate at which The Crew PC version ran was 30FPS. Now you would want to know whether the developers would stick to that (and probably hope that they don’t). So here we are with good news!

Serkan Hassan is the lead designer for The Crew at Ubisoft. He was recently asked whether the game will maintain the same frame rate as it did in the closed beta phase or would it improve on it. His reply was thoroughly satisfying because apparently the developers are aiming for a 60FPS.

Not just that, in his opinion they will also let the players adjust the frame rate for themselves on The Crew PC version:

Ultimately the performance and the frame rate will be down to the players’ hardware. A few people in the closed beta found ways of unlocking the frame rate. My understanding at this moment is that we’ll be allowing players to do that come the full version as well, unless some other issue comes to light which would block that in any way.

There still could be a little doubt about the default frame rate because even now Ubisoft has not promised a 60FPS; they said that they were ‘aiming’ for it, not promising it. However the fact that the FPS won’t be locked is good news.

The Crew PC, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One version are going to be launched worldwide on December 2 expect for Japan where the game will arrive on December 4.
