Don’t Worry, Halo 5: Guardians Still has Master Chief as the Main Character

Halo has mostly been about the journey of Masterchief but will you prefer Halo 5 Guardians if Master Chief is not its main character? Last week, speaking toX-One magazine, Mike Colter who is playing Agent Locke in Halo: Nightfall stated that he is going to be the main character in Halo 5: Guardians.

“Once Halo: The Master Chief Collection is released, and then Halo 5 comes out shortly thereafter, you’re basically going to be playing a game with me as the primary character.”

Now, whether it was a poor choice of words or something else is not known but his comments surprised a lot of people and gave birth to a lot of speculations.

But fortunately for us, Frank O’ Connor from 343 Industries cleared things up on Neogaf and shot down the rumor by saying:

“‘A” primary character. Chief is the main character and hero,”

That’s certainly a relief for Master Chief fans and in addition, due to all this misunderstanding if you’re getting the idea that 343 might be looking to retire our favorite protagonist soon, then you Won’t have to worry about that as well.

On Neogaf in reply to a post regarding this, O’Connor bluntly stated “NO.” “The end.”

Looks like Master Chief isn’t going anywhere and we will surely be playing as him in Halo 5: Guardians.

The highly anticipated title is expected for a late 2015 release exclusively for the Xbox One.
