Unreal Engine 4 is Now Free For Students and Academic Use
Unreal Engine 4 is no doubt among the most popular engines for game development and if you wish to learn, the Unreal Engine 4 is now free of charge for academic use.
Epic Games has announced that its powerful engine will now be available for free to teachers and students who are interested in video game development, art, architecture, simulation and more.
“Epic Games is committed to supporting students and schools, and helping companies that license Unreal Engine 4 find and hire qualified developers.
So, starting now, Unreal Engine 4 is free to use for colleges and universities. The engine can be installed and used on all school owned computers, and personal copies can be provided free of charge to all students enrolled in accredited video game development, computer science, art, architecture, simulation, and visualization programs.”
Unreal Engine 4 can be installed on college computers running accredited courses. Students can also apply for the engine to be installed on their personal computers as long as they are enrolled in one of these accredited courses. In addition, student will receive all the updates similar to paid subscribers.
