Sony’s Fury Movie Tank Comes To World of Tanks

By   /   Oct 9, 2014

Publisher Wargaming is partnering with Sony Pictures to promote Fury, their latest movie featuring the likes of Brad Pitt and Shia Labeouf. It makes sense, since the movie is literally centered on a tank, which is called Fury.

As such, you’ll be able to grab the titular tank as a premium unit in World of Tanks. It’s a tier VI medium tank Sherman M4A3E8.

Fury, the tank, will be based on the game’s existing Sherman build, but with a few tweaks. In particular, the vehicle will be able to accrue both credits and experience faster.

This promotional unit will be available through World of Tanks’ many iterations in various forms. For the iOS version, World of Tanks Blitz, the premium item costs $14.99, while the PC and Xbox 360 edition will cost $30.

Furthermore, the tank is only available for purchase for a limited time. For the mobile version, it will stay until October 17, while the main release has the vehicle for sale until October 29, 2014.

Special operations and items for the premium release will be available as well. For instance, the PC version comes with a special garage that resembles the movie set.

Fury, the movie, takes place during the end of World War II. A tank and its crew find themselves trapped behind enemy lines and need to make it out against all odds.

David Ayer directed Fury. Previous works includes movies like Harsh Times and Street Kings. Additionally, Ayer was a writer for known blockblusters like The Fast and the Furious and Training Day.
