The Fall 2014 issue of the Official Xbox Magazine contains numerous details about Halo 5: Guardians from 343 Industries.

In an interview with studio head Bonnie Ross, a number of questions were answered that give us more insight on not only the upcoming title but also Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Ross said that Halo 5 will contain many tie-ins with previous titles, that will all link up with new plot elements that have been introduced in the game. Locke, the new character in the game, plays a ‘pivotal role in Halo 5: Guardians’ and his origins can be known through the Halo: Nightfall series.

As for The Master Chief Collection, the studio has dropped in a new prologue and epilogue, all done by Blur. Additionally, it was revealed that the CGI sequences in Halo 2: Anniversary are being developed/remade by Blur Studios as well, and they will be ‘jaw-dropping.’

On the question of whether players will be given the option of creating custom playlists of maps from all games, Ross said that it’s under consideration and currently they are only offering ‘VIP Halo players the ability to create playlists.’

It’s also to be noted that at Comic-Con, 343 Industries will be showing new ways to view and experience linear content on Xbox One and more.’
