Bugbear Entertainment has now given a much fitting name to their racing title which has brought some mayhem to the racing genre. The project previously known by the name of Next Car Game is now officially called Wreckfest after the latest build #6 going live.

Name change is not all there is, the game will now features online multiplayer racing action with support for up to 18 players. The latest build of the game brought along some big changes and added new game modes as well.

Build number #6 of Wreckfest will also be adding a new car, European Coupe and according to the devs they are “pushing the limits” to raise the number of players in multiplayer from 18 to 24 but optimizing the network code will take some more time.

Players should note that due to the code not being optimized so far, your ISP speed will have a major impact on how these races will run. So make sure your Upstream figures matches the recommended figures before hosting a game, if it does then you have nothing to worry about.

Wreckfest will now allow you to challenge your friends and foes for a session of racing mayhem in four different game modes.

  • Deathmatch
  • Team Deathmatch
  • Racing
  • Demolition Derby

These changes came with build #6 which is now live on Steam and Other editions and changes made with the latest build are here in detail. Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments below!
