Super Smash Bros Challenges Guide – Powers, Headgear, Pokemon, Outfits, Equipment

By   /   Oct 3, 2014

In Super Smash Bros for Nintendo Wii U and 3DS, there are a hundred-and-five Challenges. Players are required to complete certain tasks to add them to the Challenge Panels and earn rewards. A lot of these challenges are unlocked by progressing through the game.

For more help on Super Smash Bros, read Unlock Hidden Characters, Unlock Hidden Stages and Items Guide.

Super Smash Bros Challenges

The game begins with a single panel containing thirty-five blank squares. These blank squares represent a hidden Challenge. Play something like a Rival Smash to get started with Challenges!

After completing a Challenge, an image will appear on the blank square. Sometimes, after completing a Challenge, adjacent squares will change their colour, representing your progress towards completion of those Challenges.

In addition to the normal rewards, completing certain Challenges will reward you with Hammers. A single Challenge Panel can only have a maximum of three Hammers.

Hammers
Hammers are used to complete any Challenge on a panel without having to complete tasks associated with them. Since you get only three Hammers on a single Challenge Panel, only use them on difficult Challenges.

Note that you cannot use Hammer on all Challenges. There are some Challenges impervious to Hammers. Furthermore, Hammers are non-transferable among different Challenge Panels. For example, Hammers from Challenge Panel #1 will not transfer to Challenge Panel #3.

How to Unlock Challenge Panels
There are three Challenge Panels, out of which, the first one is unlocked by default. Challenge Panel #2 unlocks after Challenge Panel #1 is completed and Challenge Panel #3 unlocks after all characters and stages are unlocked.

Tips to Complete Super Smash Bros Challenges

Challenges can take a lot of time and grinding, but with practice, almost all of these are pretty straightforward. In this section, I’ll be sharing various tips that will help you tackle these challenges with ease.

When we talk about Challenges related to long combos, the best place to complete these Challenges is the Training Arena. If you are going for as long as 100-hit combos, try using Lucario’s Aura Sphere.

With Fox as your opponent, take on him on Corneria. Make Fox stand near the Great Fox’s vertical stabilizer and turn your back to him. Now, all you need to do is to charge him with Lucario’s Aura Sphere and start building up your combo.

Few of the most difficult Challenges related to Classis revolve around Intensity of 9.0. When tackling these Challenges, you need to choose your best character. Although I would recommend choosing Bowser.

Bowser has pretty strong defence and can absorb a lot of attacks which can otherwise take out the lighter characters. Another thing you can do is to customize your character with effects like Auto-Heal. However, do note that during the Master Core fight, your shadow self will also receive the effects of your equipment.

One particular Challenge that frustrates most players is scoring 110 knock-outs within a single round of three minutes. To complete this Challenge easily, opt for a character like Donkey Kong and climb up to the highest platform of the stage.

Once there, all you need to do is to execute Smash and Up Tilt attacks. Staying on the elevated platform is very important so keep that in mind! Coming to Cruel Smash, go with characters that have strong Counter Specials like Ike.

In modes like Cruel Smash, opponents tend to keep you under pressure with constant attacks. With characters like Ike, you will be able to counter many of their moves and will have a chance of getting more than one knock-outs.

With Hit and Run, try and play the strengths of your characters. Go for attacks that deal high damage, but run to the next position as soon as possible. By playing the strengths of your characters, you will face no difficulty even with sending the sandbag to more than 3,000 feet.
