Pillars of Eternity Delayed to 2015, Needs More Time for Polishing
Well, I won’t say that I am totally shell-shocked by the news, but it is a fact that most of the people who have contributed to Pillars of Eternity on Kickstarter will not be happy about it: the game has been delayed, again.
That being said, Feargus Urquhart the chief executive officer of Obsidian Entertainment explained their reason for the delay. He says that since they have promised the fans to give them the best experience possible, they will not be releasing Pillars of Eternity until they are sure that objective has been met:
Since the very beginning of this project we promised our fans and ourselves that we would release this game only when we knew it would be absolutely ready for the best experience possible. We’re very close to that point, but not quite there yet. The feedback we have received through our playtest process has been invaluable to us. We are coming into the home stretch but are pushing the release out just a bit to make sure we honor that promise we made originally. Thanks for your patience and support, it will be worth the wait.
For those of you who don’t know, Pillars of Eternity is a fantasy RPG with party based tactical gameplay. It is often recognized as the spiritual successor to Baldur’s Gate.
So you tell me, will you be okay with giving them time again if that means they will ensure you to get a game you deserve or not?
