Final Fantasy XV Characters, Combat and More Discussed by Hajime Tabata

By   /   Oct 2, 2014

Square Enix held a special livestream earlier today, where they revealed some new information regarding upcoming titles Final Fantasy XV and Final Fantasy Type-0 HD.

The new director of Final Fantasy XV, Hajime Tabata confirms yet again that you will only be able to take control of Noctis in the upcoming game as it will not feature any character switching mechanic.

Tabata continued on to say that the battle system in the game will be a little different than the previous entries, which is why character switching didn’t seem to do any good.

Furthermore, developer stated that in the early process of development, Final Fantasy XV was looking more like Kingdom Hearts and after a few months, it felt closer to Final Fantasy Type-0 but now the game has its own feel to it that makes it stand out from the other games.

Some of the features that you saw in the game’s TGS trailer are still in early stages, so expect a lot of improvements in them when you get your hands on the final product.

As for now, developers are looking to make sure that players will get to play Final Fantasy XV demo, which is going to arrive sometime next year. The code for this demo will be included in Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, which is slated for March 17th release.
