RIVE Platform Shooter Announced by Toki Tori Developer, Trailer Inside

By   /   Sep 30, 2014

So how many of you remember Toki Tori the puzzle platformer that came out on Game Boy Color?

Or the numerous redone version of the game that came in later? It looks like developer Two Tribes hasn’t had enough of platformers, they are now making RIVE, a 2D platform shooter.

Who can describe a game better than the developers who have spent tons of hours on it. so here’s what RIVE is all about in the words of the developer Two Tribes:

We call it RIVE and we describe it as ‘the metal wrecking, robot hacking shooter’. It’s a 2D shooter / platformer with old school gaming values in a decidedly new school execution. During the game’s intense 360 degree shooting and platforming action, players learn to alter the behavior of their robotic enemies by collecting and uploading hacks.

Along with the announcement, the developers also released the announcement trailer that shows off a pretty loud game with a lot of out worldly robotic elements.

It is short, as you can see above, but it does highlight how the 360 degree action is going to be an important element of the game.

RIVE is being developed for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U but so far, the only confirmation regarding the release is that it will come out in 2015 – no specifics.
