The Division’s EGX Presentation Discusses Immersion of Open World
The Division’s brand art director, Rodrigo Cortes at this year’s EGX has shared some new information regarding the immersive open world of the upcoming MMO title by giving a presentation, which you can check out for yourself in the above video.
First, he discusses the living world of the game as he says that it is the biggest world they have created thus far, and after the initial loading, players will be able to play the game without any interruption. Weather and Day/Night cycles are also part of the game and will have an effect on the gameplay.
Cortes, then moves on to describe the buildings of New York City; the buildings have been given a lot of importance and every place you visit will have its own feel and uniqueness.
Finally, he talks about the “small things” which he claims are the most important part of The Division, as they all combine to give a realistic feel to the game.
In the final part of the presentation, he shows how different environments will have an effect on the game and I have to say that those detailed visuals are looking absolutely stunning. The gameplay that has been shown in the video mostly comprises of the previously showcased footage, so don’t expect anything new.
The Division is expected to see the light of day in fall of 2015 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
