By   /   Sep 24, 2014

The first ever Nintendo Direct Australia came with some exciting news for the fans in the region. Nintendo has announced that new 3DS and 3DS XL handheld models will be available in Australia from November 21,2014.

The 3DS will be available in white, while buyers of 3DS XL will have two different colors to choose from; metallic black and metallic blue. For players who want to customize the outer design of these systems, cover plates will also be available.

The Nintendo 3DS and 3DS XL will be available for a suggested retail price of AUD$219.95 and AUD$249.95 respectively. While all this is good news for Australian fans, players in North America and EU will be disappointed to know that Nintendo is not planning to launch these new models in your region this year.

“This will be the first launch outside of Japan, and there are no plans to release the system in America and Europe this year,” said Nintendo

Also, fans in Australia should note that these new models will not come with an AC adapter but thankfully they will be compatible with old DS and 3DS adapters. Still, if you want to by a new one, it is available for AUD$15.
