New Nintendo 3DS will Play the Same Games in UK and Australia
There are a couple of new details regarding the New Nintendo 3DS and 3DS XL which are going to be released in the Australian region in a couple of months. You can see the detailed specifications of the handhelds in the image below, but we also have a good news for the Nintendo fans in UK and Australia.
When the new handhelds are released in Australia, they will be region locked in the same way as the current family of the Nintendo 3DS. This was confirmed by Nintendo recently in the following words:
The new products are region locked; the situation will be exactly the same as for the current family of Nintendo 3DS systems.
What this means is that the region for the New Nintendo 3DS and XL is going to be Europe/ Australia. This means that all the games that have been released in the UK region will also be available on the new 3DS in Australia. Even more than that, gamers in the UK will also be able to import the handheld from Australia.
As far as the features are concerned, the new 3DS are going to come packing a second analogue stick, some additional buttons, an upgraded processor and finally a built in support system for the Amiibo characters.
As far as the prices are concerned, the Nintendo 3DS is going to cost $219.95 Australian Dollars, this is equivalent to £118. The 3DS XL on the other hand is going to cost $249.95 Australian Dollars, equivalent to £135.
The New Nintendo 3DS and the New Nintendo 3DS XL are going to be launched in the United Kingdom sometime in 2015 however, the Australian region will get it on November 21.
