Don’t Mess with League of Legends Matches Via 3rd Party Apps, Says Riot

Apparently, the developer of League of Legends has been receiving a lot of questions from the community regarding an array of third party apps being allowed or disallowed in the game. So they decided to set things straight and let people know that they didn’t endorse anything that interferes with the experience of the matches.

The bottom line is that they don’t want you to use any third party app that has an effect on the match itself, other than that you can use any or all apps that you want. However, their policy is encompassed in this official statement:

No software should interfere directly with the in-game player experience between when you press “Play” and the end of game screen.

This is so because Riot believes it is their top priority to maintain a consistent in-game experience so that the League of Legends remains as competitive and as sportsmanlike as ever.

Nevertheless, they do support any steps that the community is taking to improve on the overall experience outside the matches. They even gave some examples of the things that people have done for the community like websites that have stats, fan art, videos and guides etc.

Of course, it should be kept in mind that anyone who violates the policies set by the developers is looking at an official action against him/ her from the Player Support Team. This is why they have further advised you to use whatever apps you want at your own risk.

If you have been using any third party apps in League of Legends, don’t you think there will still be some apps that the players will be confused about? Could you name some?
