EA and Barack Obama to Campaign for “It’s On Us” Sexual Assault Awareness

While we are seeing more and more people speaking about the rights of women, sexual assault in our society is becoming an even greater menace than it used to be.

In fact, this might be one of the few times that I am okay with politicians meddling with the gaming industry. US president Barack Obama has taken up the charge against sexual assault through ‘It’s On Us’ campaign and EA is one of the partners.

The publisher has created a video for the cause and will be including the logo of the campaign on many of its games. Other than that, the official website of EA has a post showing their support that reads:

EA is proud to stand with the White House today in the launch of It’s On Us, a new public awareness and action campaign aimed at fundamentally shifting the way we think about sexual assault. For us at EA, we know this is an important issue with our player base so we hope you’ll take a moment to learn more about the campaign and how you can join us in being part of the solution.

Recently, US president said that women were not being valued enough in the society and that the onus is on the grown up men to move forward with example.

He gave specific references to sexual assaults in campuses. He said that it was not only the duty of the parents of girls to warn them but the parents of the young men as well to teach respect to their children.

‘It’s On Us’ is a good cause that Barack Obama as well as EA are standing up for and we really appreciate the effort.
